"You must arrive in Ancona at three in the afternoon , and with the sun. The city seems like a zebra, strips of deep and dark alleys alternate with dazzling and transversal bands. A couple of windows that reflect light makes eyes. Then if a cloud passes, the zebra is transformed into a camel kneeling, and you wait to see him get up at any moment, with the canopy of San Ciriaco on hump and the saint who leans dress rajah."
(Dino Garrone, Myth of Ancona in the Etruscan Smile)
